Winners emerge in Dambe warriors promotional fight season 2 in Nasarawa

Qualifiers have emerged in the Dambe Warriors promotional Fight season 2 at the Mararaba Nyanyan Arena in karu, Nasarawa State.

The sport which attracted top contenders from around the world battling in the middle weight and the light weight categories saw Bahangon Nyansanda, beating Sararia to advanced to the final round, While Salim Zaraki of Algeria defeated Bahagon Alintarara of Nigeria to scale through to the finals as well, which will be staged in Lagos next month.

Speaking shortly after the event, Co-founder of Dambe Warriors Anthony Ukelekeke said Dambe sport is open to all interested fighters from any part of the world to come and compete. He noted that 12 fighters will feature in the finals were 3 winners will proceed to the season 3 for the ultimate prize.

“This is an exciting time for us in Dambe sports, this is a never before seen type of Dambe in combat sports, it is a promotional fight 2, and you could see we brought a fighter from Algeria to spice up things which he won”

“Dambe warriors is the elite of all leagues when it comes to combat sports and you could see that the Algerian fighter Salim won his fight which has never happened. we are happy with what we have seen, and we look forward to achieving more”

When asked about funding and if government gives attention to the sport, Mr Anthony said, “We have stakeholders when it comes to public private partnership, when we went to Kano, the state government supported us with the stadium to host our event, but we are open to conversations” he stated.

Meanwhile, an elated Salim Zaraki, while speaking said he feels happy for emerging victorious and expresses love, saying he sees himself now as a Nigerian.

The overall winner in each of the categories will go home with the sum of 1million naira. The final is billed for the 3rd of March 2024 in Victoria Island Lagos.
